Synopsis
Say Ahh: A Film About Fighting The World’s Largest Cavity (The One in Our Healthcare System)
Say Ahh, the world’s first documentary on oral health, takes a sobering look at the state of our national healthcare system.
Despite being one of the wealthiest nations in the world, home to some of the most advanced medicine and technology, America is suffering from a drastic decline in the overall health of its citizens.
Chronic diseases like heart disease, obesity, diabetes and cancer are becoming more and more prevalent, while lawmakers DEBATE over how to address it.
Say Ahh presents the story that the answer to our health problems is right under our noses, right inside our mouths. It showcases the unsung heroes of our medical industry: our dentists and dental teams. Say Ahh looks to serve as the connective tissue between dental health and overall physical health. This documentary illustrates how, by taking a proactive approach to health care, we can arrest the decline in our health, saving billions of dollars and millions of lives.
Why Say Ahh?
“If you shut up the truth and bury it under the ground, it will grow and gather to itself such explosive power that the day it bursts through it will blow up everything in its way.” – Emile Zola
Say Ahh is the passion project of Gary Kadi, chairman of Partners in Complete Health, a non-profit organization committed to helping dentists understand the science behind “Complete Health Dentistry” and the connections between dental health and overall physical health.
“This movie is quite personal for me. Growing up in a family where both my parents had gum disease, I’ve supported the businesses of dental offices for years.
In doing so, I found that many dental and medical professionals, these amazing heroes of healthcare, who were arresting health complications through preventative/proactive treatment rather than reactive. In this way, they were saving lives and money and creating a solution to our healthcare situation.
I learned that they all believed that the mouth and body are connected and the source of getting people to achieve and maintain good health can be found in the mouth. I also found that the general public was unaware of this truth about the body-mouth relationship; they did not know these leaders in the future of healthcare existed or what they were standing for. I saw the gap in understanding the connection between the mouth and the body. Moreover, I saw the potential for an inter professional collaboration between medicine and dentistry. Someone had to create the “connective tissue” between the two.”
– Gary Kadi, founder of NextLevel Practice
